Man of the year - a History

What is it? Man of the Year Competition, borne from the idea that Time Magazine can no longer corner the market in determining life's compelling figures, annually determines who has led the best life amongst a specific set of individuals. To this end, a group of friends came together and outlined a path to determine who truly exemplifies the Man of the Year.

The Manstitution, basically the rules and regulations of this competition, outlines the path to the Man of the Year Gold Jacket, the prize that our champion shall reap.

Individual Competitions, Significant Achievements and Greatness of Character comprise the three parts to scoring for the overall competition. Individual Competitions range from the retaking of the SATs to a parallel parking competition to a paint pall pistol gun duel. Significant Achievements present specific, optional objectives that competitors can complete in order to win additional points in this competition. Each achievement falls into one of three categories and the list of achievement can be found under the ''Significant Achievements'' tab. Towards the end of the year the top scoring competitors shall be scored on their Greatness of Character, which is subjective but necessary when crowning a Man of the Year.

Mostly out of the San Francisco Bay Area, the Man of the Year Competitors are diverse as they are great. As entrepreneurs, athletes, poets, and philosophers, we represent only the best that humanity has to offer. Given the level of competition and the diversity of events, the champion will surely earn that Gold Jacket through a hard fought victory.
